Goodbye Marc Anthony

It is with a heavy heart that I am posting today. On Thursday we had to say Goodbye to Our Sweet Marc Anthony. He took a turn for the worst and we couldn't do anything to help him anymore. The cancer had spread to his liver and our boy was so sick and exhausted from his battle. He put up a big fight and I know he did all he could to stay with us, but it was not to be. I held him in my arms and whispered to him, how much we loved him and what a good boy he was. Our vet helped him pass over, it was very peaceful, Thank Heaven. He is now an Angel, running free and without pain. We are just devastated, I am lost and don't know what to do. I have been so busy taking care of my boy, nursing him for the past 2 months and now, I am at a loss.
I want to Thank everyone for their kind words and for their prayers and generosity.
Carol

Our four-legged friends are loved very much and missed just as much! Watching them suffer is so hard, and letting them go is just as hard. Please know you are in my thoughts as I do enjoy visiting your blog and love your designs.

I happened upon your blog through the blog train links and noticed your beautiful "boy" right off. Then I read your blog entry and had to take a moment to say how sorry I was to read this and can appreciate so much how you feel. We just lost our 14 year old "golden girl" also to cancer and it truly is devasting. Maybe my girl and your boy are frolicing together in doggie heaven!

I'm so sorry about Marc Anthony! I, too, treated my best girl through her cancer. She'd get extremely ill, and I'd make an appointment to put her down, only to have her get a burst of energy as soon as we'd arrive at the vet's. They were so patient, as I told them each time that she apparently wasn't quite ready! Until finally she was. That was five years ago and I still miss her dearly, although I've somehow acquired two more dogs since she passed. She taught me how to be gentle and kind, patient and loyal. I wouldn't trade the honor of having known her for anything. I sense you feel the same way about your beautiful boy. Please accept my empathy and sincere condolences.

I am so sorry for your loss... I've got an older puppy too (to me they are forever "puppies"...) - and she is not doing good either.

I have lost 2 doggies in the last 3 years, one of them to a very aggressive cancer, and I FEEL your pain. It is devastating.

Though I never knew your puppy, I am all teary eyed here (at work!!!). You are in my thoughts. I pray to God to give you strength during this difficult time.

I am so very sorry to read of your loss, I am hurting for us both. I lost two of my babies within 4 weeks last month and I still can't come to terms with it.

Run free at the Bridge Marc Anthony. And Caz, them old paw prints will remain forever on your heart.

I am just passing thru, but I was touched by your post. I am very sorry for your loss. Some people do not understand how important a family dog is. I wish you well in the future.

Your baby was beautiful - and forever will be. We love our sweet friends so much and I know the pain of saying goodbye. I am so sorry you had to go through this - we had to do the same about three weeks ago and it is still hard to think of our Kiba without tearing up. Just know that he loved you so much and your connection will always be there with him. Bless you.

Dear Caroline,

I haven't been to your blog in so long. It's funny how we move on and yet we are still connected. I am so sorry for your loss of your baby. I cannot imagine. I have never had such a loss. I am wiping away the tears. The pain is great, and I didn't have the honor and pleasure of knowing him....

Hugs from the heart,
Jeanette

My heart goes out to you over the loss of Marc Anthony. He was a huge member of your family and will be missed terribly. September 16th, last year we lost our fur baby and although the pain subsides, you will still get pangs as we do seven months later. This too shall pass. My love,
Patti

A little late, but I know you're still missing you're "boy". We've been there, and since we adopted another "fuzzy family member" I know we'll be there again. For now, you're in my prayers. Trust me, it WILL get better! The good memories will take over.

I just came upon your blog and just gasped when I saw the picture of your sweet Marc Anthony. I am so sorry for your loss.

I was taken aback because he looks exacly like my DGD's Lizzi. She is a bull mastiff and just the best dog. We all love her with all our heart and, like you, would be heart broken if anything happened to her.

Bless you and your family in your time of sorrow. Sending you a big hug from Louisiana.

Diane

I just read your blog, and it seeemed like I was meant to find it. We just had to put down a boxer, Jasmine...who fought the great fight with cancer and blindness. However when the pain became to much we had to do the right thing..She was 13 and sooooo loved by all that knew her. My heart goes out to you..they are wonderful animals. Jerri
